Do I need to install anything?

No. It runs in your phone's browser — go to the site, log in, and use it. Nothing to download from an app store.

What does it cost?

Maintenato is free while it's in beta, and no card is taken. We'll tell you well in advance, by email, before any charges start. See the price page.

Am I tied into a contract?

No contract. You can delete your account yourself at any time in Settings, under Your data (see below), or email info@maintenato.com.

What can it do today?

Build quotes with line items and VAT, share a link so your customer can accept a quote on screen, turn an accepted quote into a job, keep a day and week diary with address and access notes, attach photos to jobs, create invoices with VAT, and keep a customer list. You can email quotes and invoices to customers with a PDF attached, send a receipt once an invoice is paid, and switch on optional email reminders for overdue invoices and for jobs the next day. There's also an AI assistant that drafts customers, quotes, jobs and invoices from a plain-English message; nothing is saved until you confirm it. A Settings screen holds your business details, reminders, email address, password, security options, data download and account deletion.

Can my customers pay an invoice through Maintenato?

Not yet. There are no card payments inside Maintenato. Each invoice has a link your customer can open to see it, along with your bank details and a payment reference, and you record the payment yourself (part payments too) when the money arrives.

Does it email my quotes and invoices?

Yes, by email. Press Send, check the message, and the customer gets your quote or invoice with a PDF attached and a link to view it. You need your business details filled in and your own email address confirmed, and email delivery has to be switched on for the site. Reminders are optional and off until you turn them on: invoice reminders on the due date and 3, 7 and 14 days after (and, if you choose, 3 days before), and a reminder the day before a job. You can mark a customer as "no reminders" or pause one invoice. There is no text-message (SMS) sending. For a customer without an email address you can copy the message, or open WhatsApp with the message and link filled in and press send yourself; Maintenato does not send WhatsApp messages for you.

Can I get my data out?

Yes. In Settings, under Your data, press Download my data. You get a ZIP file with spreadsheets (CSV) of your customers, quotes, invoices, payments, jobs, saved quote templates, business details, the emails you sent to customers and your assistant chats, plus a PDF of every quote and invoice that isn't a draft. Job photos are included if you tick the box. It never includes your password or security codes. You can download up to 3 times a day.

Can I delete my account?

Yes, in Settings under Your data. It permanently deletes your account and all your quotes, invoices, customers, jobs, photos and settings, and it can't be undone, so download your data first. You confirm with your password (or an emailed link if you sign in with Google), by typing DELETE and, if you use two-factor sign-in, a code. Backups that already exist are kept for up to 30 days and are then deleted, so your data will be gone from them after that. UK businesses are generally required to keep invoicing and accounting records for several years: check gov.uk or ask your accountant how long you need to keep yours.

Can I change my email address?

Yes, in Settings under Account. You enter your password (or confirm it's you if you sign in with Google), we send a link to the new address, and the change only happens when you open it. We also tell your old address. If you signed up with Google you can add a password there too.

Does it connect to my accounting software?

Not yet. There are no accounting integrations, but you can download your invoices and payments as spreadsheets.

Does it handle VAT?

Yes, VAT is calculated on quotes and invoices. It doesn't file your return — use your accountant for that.

I've got someone working with me. Can they log in too?

Not yet. Each account is for one person.
